It’s amazing every year in communities like Michigan’s Keweenaw Peninsula when people come together for a great cause and make mesmerizing things happen. That’s exactly what happens each year with the Canal Run, and the organizing committee couldn’t be more thankful for the 100+ people that come together to make this happen.
Some are up at 4 a.m. on race day, some volunteer twice earlier in the week and still run, and some put in four+ hours of work. We’re thankful for all of them!
This year volunteers have been steadily pouring in, including large groups from Keweenaw Co-Op, UP Health System-Portage and Finlandia University. With that said, there are still plenty of great openings! From bag stuffing earlier in the week to helping at registration to rounding up the kiddos for the Kid’s Dash and of course helping with water and food on the course and finish line.
If you’re interested in helping out, head over to canal.run/volunteer and submit your information. Without YOU, amazing community events like this aren’t possible.
