One of the highlights of the Canal Run is the fun-filled Kids Dash. This non-timed event allows the area’s young runners to share in the weekend festivities with a race of their own on a safe, closed course. Last year over 100 participants ran the quarter-mile course, which starts by the Krist Gas Station in Hancock and ends at the same finish line as the Canal Run races.
The race starts at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 15th and is open to all ages. There will be waved starts with the older kids starting first. Registration will be near the race start by Northern Auto beginning at 10 a.m. There is no entry fee, however there is an option to pay $10 for a T-shirt. All race participants will receive a finisher’s medal.
The Kids Dash was created to promote physical activity in a fun environment for our youth and give kids a chance to take part in the Canal Run. It’s a great event to be a part of and to watch. We hope to see you there!
