The Canal Run is proud to be introducing Bridget Durocher as the Volunteer Director of the 43rd annual Canal Run. Durocher joined the organizing committee in 2017, and volunteered to take on this new role in 2018.
“The Copper Country is a great place to be active, and I’m happy to be a part of anything we can do to provide a safe, fun and memorable experience for the participants and the volunteers,” Durocher said.
More than 100 volunteers are needed each year for the race. Currently Durocher is seeking volunteers in nearly all positions, and is specifically seeking a couple groups to come out and help.
“I participate in races around the country, and the volunteers who have the most fun are those who come out as a group,” she said. “Church groups, sports teams and small businesses all have a lot to offer as a group, and we’d love to see them come out and bring energy to the course.”
Durocher is the Assistant Athletic Director at Finlandia University, coach of the FinnU cross country teams, race director for the Sizzling Through Stanton and has been a part of several other active events in our community over the years.
