It was another magical weekend in Michigan’s Copper Country as 727 people registered to participate in the Canal Run with hundreds more coming out to cheer on racers, volunteer at spots throughout the course, participate in the annual kid’s dash and of course enjoy Friday night’s activities in downtown Hancock.
10-mile competition heats up
The cash prizes for the 10-mile run spiced up the action in the signature 10-Mile Bob Olson Memorial Run with Samantha Saenz of Concord, Michigan taking the top spot. Her time of 1:04:02 was the fastest 10-mile run time since 2010. On the men’s side it was the same with Clayton Sayen taking home the top spot with a time of 54:55:05, a time that’s only been bested twice since 2010.
A full list of results from the 44th annual Canal Run can be found at https://my2.raceresult.com/131972/. Please note that at time of publication there was a bug on the race results site. We expect that will be resolved quickly.
